John Kerry -- revisionist speculation

This is beautiful: John Kerry claims that he would not have spent seven minutes continuing to read to schoolkids after learning of the 9-11 attacks, instead he would have sprang into action.

Garbage.

RedState.org tracked this down. Here's what Kerry ACTUALLY did (from his CNN interview with Larry King):

"...And as I came in [to a meeting in Sen. Daschle's office], Barbara Boxer and Harry Reid were standing there, and we watched the second plane come in to the building. And we shortly thereafter sat down at the table and then we just realized nobody could think, and then boom, right behind us, we saw the cloud of explosion at the Pentagon..."

As RedState points out, however, the second plane hit the World Trade Center at 9:03 a.m.; the Pentagon plane crashed at 9:43 a.m.

Bush remained calm, conducted his business with the kids for another seven minutes and acted as if things were all okay. Kerry hung out with a trio of liberal Senators completely stunned for 40 minutes. Bush regained his wits instantaneously, protected the kids' sensibilities, and cut short his visit 7 minutes later -- or nearly six times faster than Kerry was able to gather himself.

More proof of Bush's leadership ability? Maybe. But it certainly proves Kerry's claim is grandstanding crap.
