Dawn Staley is the best basketball player in University of Virginia women's hoops history. She led the team to three Final Fours in a row -- the team has not been to one since she graduated (same year as The Monk) in 1992. Staley won gold medals in the '96 and '00 Olympics and is a legend in her hometown of Philadelphia, where she is the Temple women's hoops coach when not working her other job as a player for the WNBA's Charlotte Sting. Tonight, she is the US flagbearer during the opening ceremonies.
Congrats.
