Inauspicious beginning

The Yanks got whacked last night in a game that starts them on a double-roadie with 16 of their next 19 on the road; nine of those against contending teams: Texas, Cleveland, Minnesota, and the three home dates are against the healed-up and improved Angels. And from the "now, matters are worse" category, Javy Vazquez's pinkeye flared up and the Yanks left him in NYC so that he won't pitch until at least the Twins series next week. Tonight, it's Tanyon Sturtze against a Rangers' rookie. Over/under on this one = 15 runs.

At least, the Yanks' recent spate of four-straight 8IP outings from starters, followed by two losses where they trailed all game means that QuanFlashMo has gotten some rest. Quantrill's pitched twice in the last six games -- low for him; Flash has pitched once and Mo has been on extended vacation. Good. Mo needs it and the Yanks need him to be his old self come September and October.

Who caught the movie reference above?
