Homeland security problem

Michelle Malkin takes no prisoners. Even though The Monk doesn't always agree with her, she definitely gets her point across and will back it up. Yesterday, she gave Norm Mineta a whipping in her syndicated column. What amazes The Monk is that a Cabinet Secretary with the damning nickname "underperformin' Norman" has survived nearly three years as a member of the Bush Cabinet in the aftermath of 9-11. Of all Cabinet secretaries who cannot be asleep at the switch, Mineta is near the top of the list, thanks to having the TSA and FAA under his rule.

Mineta is the Administration's most strident critic of racial profiling -- a criticism that prevents the TSA and FAA from using predictive factors to determine who could be a threat to a given flight: Arab male 21-35, ID is Saudi passport, or Catholic nun 55+ on visit from Ireland? Muslim male without baggage, approx. 31, or small female child, approx. 8 carrying teddy bear?
