Can Bush Gallup ahead?

Some decent news for the president: his approval rating is now above the crucial 50% threshold that the political wags say indicate that the incumbent will be reelected AND Gallup's likely voters poll puts the president ahead 50-47(%) over the flip-flopping Frenchman.

Note that this poll also shows a decrease in the disapproval of Bush's handling of Iraq and an increase in approval of how he handles terrorism. For some reason, though, Bush has negative economic ratings despite the highest GDP increases in decades and constantly improving consumer confidence. Donald Luskin discusses how Kerry is trashtalking a good economy.
