The Monk is a goon wannabe

DRUDGE currently has some lovely quotes from the POSITIVE and ISSUE-FOCUSSED John Kerry and his lovely and demure wife.

John Kerry said in response to protestors at his Milwaukee rally "I want to thank George Bush for sending the goons here tonight to excite us to do a little more work." Kerry's pro-Labor so he really should know what folks do and do not qualify as goons. Monk thinks he's settin' the bar a bit low. Nonetheless, it's good to see the Senator remaining positive in this campaign and offhandedly commenting that the 47-53% of the electorate who side with the President are just a bunch of goons.

Then there's her loveliness herself, from the Yahoo Reuters feed:

Heinz Kerry subtly questioned Republican President Bush (news - web sites)'s intellect, saying: "It's vital for anyone with intelligence to acknowledge mistakes and change positions -- hello."

When a Bush supporter with a bullhorn shouted "four more years" from the back of a large crowd packed into a downtown Milwaukee park, Heinz Kerry, who was introducing her husband, responded: "They want four more years of hell."

Let's break these two comments down. First, THK says that Bush is stupid. That means her husband and John Edwards are completely vegetative. After all, Bush asked for Congressional authority to go to war against Iraq and BOTH of the Johns said yes. In addition, that concept of changing positions based on new knowledge is rubbish: has Kerry ever disavowed his position FOR the nuclear freeze in the 1980s, AGAINST placing intermediate-range missiles in West Germany, FOR cutting the military budget even further than Clinton did, AGAINST the first Gulf War that threw Saddam out of Kuwait, AGAINST the ten military programs that were probably the most vital to winning the Afghan and Iraq II wars with less than 2000 fatalities for US forces and AGAINST $87,000,000 in additional funds for armor-plating vehicles and additional weapons for US soldiers? Maybe he's not that smart Theresa.

Finally, if she thinks four years of Bush are hell (as her investment portfolio grows at a faster rate than her ego), perhaps she would prefer to experience four years in Cuba, the former USSR, in the Warsaw Ghetto in 1939-43 or in the Hanoi Hilton with John McCain . . . the woman is a menace to reality.

And of course, the Republicans will never say this about the Democrats.
