And you thought Clinton pandered

John Kerry is now pandering to the press! How? Promising more press conferences because he has "nothing to hide." What a steaming pile THAT is!

If Kerry had nothing to hide, he would have discussed his glorious Senatorial record for more than 26 seconds in his acceptance speech last Thursday.

If Kerry had nothing to hide, he would have touted his support for Communist governments in Central America in the 1980s, his opposition to deploying nuclear missiles in western Europe (a move that hastened the US victory in the Cold War by staring down the Soviets), his peacenik advocacy for a nuclear freeze, his opposition against 10 of the most effective weapons systems/attack vehicles used in Afghanistan and Iraq, and his opposition to Gulf War I that freed Kuwait and kept Saddam from controlling key parts of the world's oil supply.

If Kerry had nothing to hide, he would have discussed his antiwar stance after he returned from Vietnam and his efforts on behalf of Vietnam Veterans Against the War -- a group that wanted to assassinate Senatorial leaders (which Kerry would not have endorsed) and made mendacious accusations that all US soldiers were war criminals (which Kerry regurgitated).

If Kerry had nothing to hide, he'd tell us which European leaders allegedly want him to win in November.

If Kerry had nothing to hide, he'd tell us about his secret plan to end the war in Iraq.

If Kerry had nothing to hide, he'd tell us why it's acceptable for him to push his personal views for higher taxes, weaker defense and left-wing judges but not his personal views on abortion.

And if Kerry had nothing to hide, his wife's tax returns would be public just as previous potential First Ladies have revealed their own returns.

Then again, perhaps Kerry has something to hide.
