The Force isn't with us
So says Jonathan Last of the Weekly Standard re: the Star Wars DVD. Like most fans, I soured on the whole epic after The Phantom Plotline was released in 1999, and was not impressed with Attack of the Killer Clones either (in Star Wars, Leia says to Luke, aren't you a little short for a stormtrooper; Mark Hamill is 5' 9"; Temuera Morrison, who played Jango Fett, the bounty hunter who was cloned to make the stormtroopers, is 5' 7" -- result, Lucas losing touch with his own concepts). Read the whole thing because Last's frequently contrarian take on the movies is always worth a look.
