I haven't seen any transcripts but at face value this is pretty low, even by Kerry standards:

``When it comes to developing a real energy policy, George Bush has run out of gas,'' Kerry said. ``The money that you're paying at the pump is going directly from your wallets straight into the hands of the oil companies and the oil producers.''

Burgeoning demand from China, interrupted supplies from the Gulf of Mexico...all affected by the Bush energy policy...

Kerry looks patrician, sounds reasoned and mellifluous -- so why do I keep thinking of Dorian Gray?
