George Vecsey is now waxing philosophical about how it's time for the Red Sox to beat the Yankees and win the WS.
ONE of these years, the Red Sox really ought to win it all.
Like right now.
They need to shake off the Yankees and win a World Series. Everybody needs closure, before we collectively get sick and tired of these historic stumbles.
George, 20 million Yankee fans say Pfah! to you too. As far as we are concerned they can stumble until/unless they play Red China or Cuber in the WS. The Red Sox always failing may well be a truth of the Universe like the Generals always falling to the Globetrotters. Besides, I think winning one for the Sox or the Cubs would rob their fans of the exquisite pain and camaraderie that they have really come to enjoy. They just don't know it yet.
So stow it or go write for the Globe.
