Two other key elections this weekend. Hamid Karzai is expected to win in Afghanistan and by the time the East Coast wakes up tomorrow, we will know whether staunch US ally Australian Prime Minister John Howard has won another term. That election is too close to call with Howard thought to be narrowly ahead. His Labour opponent has been campaigning on the Zapatero standard of bring the troops home.
