Apologize yourself

Norway has fallen far from its brave-yet-futile defense against the Nazis in World War II and the courageous acts Norwegians took in the face of the Hitler menace (most notable: Norwegian children strapping gold bricks to the undersides of their sleds, sliding past Nazi guards and down to the fjords where hidden ships took the gold for safekeeping to the US).

The proof? The ad referenced in the title link, which appears in the WaPo, that calls on the President to apologize to the Iraqis for invading Iraq! Next, should Britain apologize to Norway for helping free it from the Nazis? Should Australia apologize to East Timor for helping that country come into existence? Should the US and UK apologize to France for liberating it in 1944? Should the UN apologize to South Korea for approving the US-led action that kept it from becoming part of Kimland?

The notion that the US should apologize for overthrowing Saddam, liberating Iraq and ridding the world of Saddam's evil is just stupid. Worse yet, the Norwegian group that took out the ad wants the UN to run the place! I'm thinking all that socialized health care in Norway isn't helping the mental acuity of the populace. Some people need to get whacked in the head with a reality stick.

HT - The Captain.
