Saddam on trial

Looks like Saddam has been well-versed in MoveOn.org's talking points. Here is the AP story on his perp walk. Here are Saddam's nuggets of wisdom:

1. "This is all theater, the real criminal is Bush."

2. Regarding his ability to afford a lawyer: "The Americans say I have millions hidden in Switzerland. How can I not have the money to pay for one?"

3. His new regard for the Rule of Law: "Is it possible to raise accusations against an official figure and this figure be treated apart from the official guarantees stipulated by the constitution and the law? Where is this law upon which you are conducting investigations?"

4. His response to the invasion of Kuwait: "I did that for the Iraqi people. How can you defend these dogs?"

Good to know that Saddam and Michael Moore are of one mind on the first point. Excellent company for the fat filmbutcher to keep.
