Occidental College -- No Free Speech

Occidental College in LA has dissolved the student government, essentially seized the student fees that the student government controls, and made false accusations and distortions to justify itself -- all in response to the radio commentary of Jason Antebi, an Occidental student, on the student radio station because Antebi's commentary offended some of his listeners. Details are here, and the excellent Foundation for Individual Rights in Education is on the case.

California has a law allowing students in private colleges and universities the same Free Speech rights as those in public institutions. Thankfully, FIRE seems to be ready to enforce that law in this case.
