Reliable Source

Here's something I didn't mention yesterday, but which is extremely important on many levels.

The Wall Street Journal reported, in an editorial blasting the ICJ ruling, that the Palestinian Authority cabinet met over the weekend to devise a strategy on how to proceed to press its advantage at the UN after the ICJ opinion in its favor. There have been rumors that the PA will seek some actions from the General Assembly, which Israel generally ignores because the UN General Assembly is the most anti-Semitic legislature since the 1933-45 Reichstag.

There have also been rumors that the Palestinians would seek a Security Council resolution condemning the West Bank Wall and sanctioning Israel. That resolution would be vetoed by the US without any pseudo-negotiations on language, directives, obligations, etc.

But the Journal info is the most interesting: the PA may put off seeking a UN Security Council resolution until AFTER THE US ELECTIONS. Why? Because the PA believes the potential Kerry Administration will be more friendly to it than the Bush Administration. Again, why? Because Kerry is an internationalistic conciliatory UN supporter [a fact that Kerry touts]? Because the Kerry advisers have contacts in the Arab world and have put the word out that he would be friendly to the PA [a supposition, but certainly possible]? Because Kerry has a history of currying favor with despots and dictators [again, a fact from Kerry's record]?

No matter what question is actually the right answer, the fact is that the PA's silence (if it stays silent until November) speaks volumes -- support Kerry and help the Palestinian Authority terrorize Israel.
