This isn't the second in a series. (We had a post on the UK health system yesterday.) It did catch my eye though as the case of Baruch Tegegne, a hero who helped save hundreds of Ethiopian Jews, lies dying for want of a kidney transplant. Two compatible donors have been found but both have been confounded by the truly idiotic Canadian health system. The first is an altruistic donation but the Canadians are worried about some 'quid pro quo' arrangement. The second is from Toronto but, alas, Tegegne is a resident of Quebec so he is ineligible for non-emergency care in Toronto. Doesn't matter, it seems, that he's got about a month left. If you want to be ticked off, click here to read the whole thing.
