It is becoming quite clear that the CBS' Bush memos are forgeries. CBS is apparently conducting an internal investigation with rumors that Dan Rather will apologize on the air if the allegations are true. Ted Koppel on Nightline (click title of post) interviewed both Lt. Colonel Killian's widow and son and both are strongly debunking the story (in addition to dozens of experts). Dem hack Chris Lehane is now feverishly trying to distance the Kerry campaign from the story and suggesting that Karl Rove may have leaked the memos himself.
Potentially more damning is this piece about CBS internal dissension on the memos' authenticity. Read the comments, they are hilarious.
Kudos to the folks at PowerLine who broke the story. Sobering to think that not many years ago the CBS allegations would have been taken as gospel and much harder, if not impossible, to disprove.
