Over the Line
Texas reliever Frank Francisco committed a nearly unpardonable sin last night when, enraged by fans' heckling, he threw a chair into the stands and injured a fan. There is no place for that in the game. Fans can be very nasty but they've paid (handsomely, in most cases) to watch the game and root for their team. Physical action against fans can only be countenanced when it's done in self-defense. MLB needs to deal with Francisco strictly but fairly - suspension for the rest of the season seems appropriate.
