Seven bombs have gone off in London, according to Scotland Yard, in what appears to be a coordinated terrorist attack to coincide with the opening of the G8 today in Gleneagles, Scotland. Hundreds of casualties (dead or injured) likely as in one incident a double-decker bus was ripped apart.
The London public transport system has been shut down as police comb it for any more explosive devices. The London phone system including mobiles is heavily overloaded and service is very spotty.
An outfit calling itself "The Secret Organization of Al Qaeda in Europe" has claimed responsibility.
Prime Minister Blair is returning to London from Gleneagles.
Our thoughts and prayers with the people of London.
