Fred Barnes of The Weekly Standard reports that Pres. Bush is increasingly unlikely to nominate Alberto Gonzales to replace retiring Justice Sandra Day O'Connor. That means that the solid conservatives can breathe easier and put away the joke that "Gonzales is Spanish for Souter."
The President is also likely to nominate a woman, which means one of the two Ediths from the Fifth Circuit, in all likelihood.
The Monk has already told you that the President knows who his nominee is, so much of this conjecture is merely journalists trying to learn who the nominee will be before the President makes his announcement.
