Axis of Evil Update

IMPORTANT NY Times story today on the results of US investigations into Libya's now defunct WMD program: North Korea sold processed uranium to Libya. Next question -- who else received North Korean processed uranium exports? Syria, Iran, Iraq, Algeria, Venezuela?

Remember, there is ONLY one impetus that led Libya to surrender its WMD programs: the US overthrow of Saddam Hussein. Although the US has not found the vast stockpiles of WMD that every major intelligence service in the world and the UN's own records indicated would be in Iraq (although we know that Iraq was developing a nuclear weapons program and that it likely moved its WMD stockpile to Syria in the six months that US troops waited on the UN from late 2002 until March 2003), one member of the Axis of NearlyAsEvil gave up its WMD programs as a direct result of the US invasion of Iraq and subsequently getting caught red-handed by the US-led Proliferation Security Initiative (which I wrote about here.

Those who question the benefits of the Iraq war are continually being exposed as ridiculous in the wake of the deposing of a butcher, 22 million people now free to VOTE (if they're of age) and hold elections, the halt of Iraq's WMD programs, the cessation of Libya's WMD program, and now, perhaps, the possibility that North Korea's Stalinist hellhole may implode.
