Myth debunking alert

Remember the up-armored vehicles controversy from the 2004 campaign? Remember the ambush question of Donald Rumsfeld based on false information and its subsequent Dowdification by the press? [Dowdification: the intentional act of selecting parts of a quotation out of context in order to misrepresent the speaker's viewpoint].

Seems that the problem was Pentagon procurement procedures and some Congressional oversight requirements, NOT whether the Army had been responsive to its soldiers and NOT an Administration that was inattentive to the needs of the armed forces.
