A successful targeted killing

The US has been aiding the Somali government and the Ethiopian military in their fight against the Islamic Courts Union -- the Taliban-esque group that sought to turn Somalia into East Africa's terrorist state. Today a US gun ship reportedly killed Fazul Abdullah Mohammed, who allegedly plotted the bombings of US embassies in Nairobi and Dar es Salaam that killed more than 200 people.

Good.

This is a fine example of a targeted assassination and exactly the type of action the US should take against terrorists. It's also exactly what Israel did to Hamas' leading terrorists in 2005 to howls of indignation in the world community. Somehow, there's always a different reaction if Israel defends itself by killing terrorists.
