Speak what you think now in hard words, and to-morrow speak what to-morrow thinks in hard words again, though it contradict every thing you said to-day. -- R.W. Emerson

What if . . .
I told you at the beginning of the baseball season that as of May 3, the Yankees would have lost six of seven to the Red Sux, Mike Mussina would have four losses and an ERA near 6, no regular player would have a .300 average, Arod would have 7 RBI in 25 games (a sub-50 RBI pace), Jeter and Williams would be hitting <.190, Contreras would have an ERA over 7 and Rivera would have 7 BB in 14+ innings -- would you predict the Yanks would be 14-11? Neither would I. Considering that almost everything about the Yankees can improve (especially on offense), they have a good chance to not suck. Obstacle: three weeks of games (18 total) against the AL West and 18 of their remaining 24 this month on the road.
