The Marlins are asking for Sean Henn and Scott Proctor for Juan Pierre.
Proctor has got a nice live arm with a plus/double plus fastball and Henn is a big [soft-tossing?] lefty who might be a year or so away. Proctor was decent but unspectacular and Henn was roughed up a bit last year when called up for a couple starts when Yankee starters were dropping like flies.
Hate to part with two young potentially decent arms but I think you'd have to do it to get Pierre.
Meanwhile, Bob Klapisch loves the idea of Jeter in center.
