Loving the NY one-party state?

Rick Brookhiser notes that George Pataki has done in New York what George Bush did in Texas -- created a one-party state -- but in reverse. Whereas Bush neutered the Democrats and helped transform Texas into a Republican state, the Republican Pataki has enervated the Republicans and minimized the Conservatives (who actually can be a force in NY politics, believe it or not), thereby making New York a one-party state: Democratic.
